What is the PE & Sports Premium?
The Government set aside £320m worth of funding for Primary schools in order for them to achieve the aim of all children and young people having access to at least 60 minutes of sport and physical activity per day with a recommendation of 30 minutes of this being delivered during the school day.
The budget is allocated directly to school so that they have the flexibility to use it in the way that works best for their pupils.
At St Oswald’s Church of England Primary School, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.
Our Primary School Sport’s Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employingadditional sports professionals, running more clubs free of charge at lunch time and after school, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions.
